Jimmie Ward is an American football player for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. 

Ward got a hamstring injury at the team’s first preseason game on Aug.14. He has been designated on Injured Reserve, and his absence due to the injury is taking longer than expected.

His absence is causing a lot of loss to the team because he was the best cover man in the 49ers. As an alternative way, the Niners brought Tashaun Gipson, who is a veteran safety, last Monday.
