[Bible Journey] Deuteronomy 28

God wants his children to obey the commands he has given. So, then, what does obedience to God mean?

Jesus showed an example of how people do obey His commands. Jesus obeyed God’s command to take up the cross despite suffering and persecution. Obedience means loving God by keeping His commands.

Besides, we can see the two consequences depending on whether Israelites obey or not in Deuteronomy 28.

The blessings from God will follow you if you obey God’s commands, but if you don’t, curses will follow.

The Bible says the blessings like, “You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out” (NIV, Deu. 28:3-6).
