On the day of atonement, no regular work and food are expected while presenting a burnt offering to God.

The burnt offering should be made with sacrifices that have no physical defects—one young bull, one ram, and seven one-year-old male lambs.

Also, it follows other offerings with grain and drink. After five days, the Festival of Shelters required no regular work, holy assembly, or special whole burnt offering by fire.
