WALKING WITH GOD—Humble Yourself

God despises arrogant but blesses those who humble themselves. So then, how to follow the humble ways that pleased God? Here are a few points you need to know in humility.

1. Value others

Bible says valuing others is a principle leading act humbly. Also, Jesus showed humility by washing the disciples’ feet, and it is a manifestation of God’s preference. So, a humble man expects God’s grace based on the verse, “He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.” (Psalm 25:9). Applying this principle of valuing other help your social life harmonize with them in respect and humility, not be proud.

2. Lower yourself before God

Seeking God and his kingdom requires being poor in spirit and acknowledging God in dependence. Bible says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). Having a low rank doesn’t mean you’re weak, but it reveals God’s glory and power instead of yourself.

3. Trusting God

Relying on God rather than yourself leads you to a way of humility. So, being humble could be meant brave and bold because of harnessing God’s ability. An example of bold humility is shown, “David said to the Philistine, “David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied…” (1 Samuel 17:45).
