Our God is jealous and wants His people to abstain from idolatry, and He wants us to live a life seeking the kingdom of God. What is a priority when you ask God? Yeshua said to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. That means God’s kingdom should be prioritized over food and water. Yeshua also taught about the righteousness of the kingdom. The Bible tells us that obeying God’s law makes us righteous. Righteousness is not a state of mind but of being and doing. Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. “Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:19). Where is your desire when you serve God? If you desire is to please the Lord, practicing and teaching God’s commandment sid standard behavior for those who seek first the kingdom.
